The NYT has a similarly spirited article in its Arts section:

One comment notes that we, the audience, have to do our part as well:

"But audiences will have to play their part too. 'You could have a sparkling, brand-new, disinfected event space, and if you bring a herd of noncompliant patrons into the venue, people will still get sick,' said Steven A. Adelman, vice president of the Event Safety Alliance."
I can imagine that if there are concerts with limited audience, the venue is well within its rights to refuse entry to audience members who wear masks, for one. It will also be necessary for each venue to know who is sitting in which seat, in a worst-case scenario. Another US arts administrator touches on the same point as Adelman, earlier in the article:

"'If we go back to work too soon, and a theater anywhere becomes a hot spot, that is going to set the whole industry back,' said Mary McColl, the executive director of Actors’ Equity Association"

Doing the maths is a bit scary

Will Audiences Come Back to the Concert Hall? When we return to the stage to present opera, dance, theatre, or symphonic works in our 2,000+ seat halls, will our subscribers be there with tickets in hand? This is the question spreading like wildfire through every board meeting in America. It is the question keeping Artistic Directors, General Managers, agents, and artists up at night. It is an interesting question. But it is the wrong one.The problem is not audience participation. It may drop, but

Maybe more importantly is the question of equity in the WHOLE country ?

Yes, I heard this. Sadly, very few people will take much notice.

Home testing kits involve taking a swab from your tonsils and shoving it up your nostril? Sounds bad enough - but I have no idea where my tonsils are. They were abducted decades ago, when I was a small child..

A friend mentioned the other day she and her husband are part of some national(ONS?) scheme whereby they test themselves at set intervals and she said that she really struggles with controlling gag reflex doing the throat swab and wonders how many of hers(and by extension others) aren't actually done correctly each time. I suspect that the drive-in DIY arrangements with all the added pressures and opportunities for misunderstanding may also have a lot of 'misses'.
Meanwhile back to music. Family members abroad have been wondering how their futures, and also possibly more importantly their childrens', are going to look with respect to their playing recording and touring - if indeed they have a future in terms of making a living that way. I don't think their government is so actively anti-arts as the UK though, so possibly better placed than their performing colleagues in this country. The 8am news summary mentioned that HRH the PoW had talked about this in an interview with CFM. I'm not sure that having him talk about the threat to the ROH is necessarily a positive thing, even though his comments about the income(tourist, tax etc) and international standing and reputation aspects are valid.

If that is the case then NO WAY
If I lived in UK, there is also NO WAY I let the app anywhere near my phone, which would allow a government devoid of inegrity, and of which I have zero trust in, to have access to 'me' and my data.

All governments are pretty much devoid of integrity, and this one is worse than most. But some of them have managed to do a better job than others on sorting the virus.

As regards the app, I don‘t really care who makes the millions out of it, since none of the likely candidates are paragons of virtue, and are all doubtless mining our data for all they are worth in any case.

I’d just like the virus under control, so that we have a chance of resuming the parts of life that are worth resuming.
Seeing family and friends, hearing live music, enjoying sport, visiting beautiful places, keeping worthwhile businesses and livelihoods going etc etc.

Can we have the other thread back so that all the statistics etc can go there and we can have this to talk about culture ?

The article in your OP was about business and the arts.

And much of the above discussion has been around issues connected to how arts businesses are going to successfully reopen.
