20 commissioned miniatures from composers in lockdown as part of the Culture in Quarantine project. Broadcast at 08:30 on Breakfast, included later in Afternoon In Concert, and at the end of BBC Radio 3 In Concert. A great opportunity for composers and musicians to showcase their skills and, yes, maybe an inspiration for young people thinking about entering for the BBC Young Composer Competition

Wednesday 29 April: Anna Clyne’s postcard for cor anglais – Evening Light (Gillian Callow, principal cor anglaise BBC Philharmonic)
Thursday 30 April: Jonny Greenwood’s postcard for cello – Postcard (Benjamin Hughes, principal cello BBC Concert Orchestra)
Friday 1 May: Kuljit Bhamra’s postcard for tabla – It Rains Diamonds on Saturn (Stephen Whibley, percussionist BBC Concert Orchestra)”

It would be good to have a complete listing somewhere on the R3 website, or are they hiding somewhere? Presumably we face the same legal restrictions about broadcasting, recording and subsequent availability of BBC new commissions as with the BBC Proms new commissions. It means you'll have to keep listening to the programmes or you'll miss them.
