I was surprised at the the number of names that didn't even come up in the discussion!

More surprisingly, only one no longer living. No Milsteins, Perlmans, Sterns, Jack Bennys

Jascha came up in the discussion but didn't make it to the top 5 for reasons I couldn't determine. Perlman did get a mention but seemed to be dismissed for not being as 'deep' as others, not being associated with one work, and having "high-gloss, 1970s" sound as well as being good for 'lollipops and bon-bons'.
