    Krzysztof Penderecki has died

I've just seen that Krzysztof Penderecki has died aged 86. I remember 50 years ago being bowled over by his St Luke Passion on a Polish double LP version under Henryk Czyz.

Read of this on Richard Barrett's FB page. He linked to this in tribute:

A little behind the times, The Times has an obituary for him today; I'm not able to share a link to it, unfortunately.

A few years ago I was at Bridgewater Hall for the composer conducting the UK première of his own Symphony No 7 ‘Seven Gates of Jerusalem’. He will be missed!
