Beethoven Weekend - Barbican Feb 1/2

I noticed this event coming up at the Barbican - https://www.barbican.org.uk/whats-on...eekend-tickets

Looks reasonable value if anyone wants to try, though the exact details (or even slightly less exact details) seem hard to come by. I’m considering it, but may be too involved elsewhere to attend.

I went to (most of) the Saturday, Symphs 5 and 6 from the RLPO, a quick canter across the road for Simon Callow reading from B’s letters interspersed with movements from the quartets, then back to the Hall for Symphs 1 and 3 from the Bournemouth SO. By which point I was Ludwigged out, so missed the evening Symphs 2 and 4. But for the bargain price of £25, and having queued ruthlessly to get the best seats in the stalls, I was more than happy. I thought it was terrific. Did anyone else from here go?

Sadly although I was in London, and had time on the Sunday, by the time I decided I had enough enthusiasm and might have liked to go, at least to the Sunday sessions, all the tickets had sold out. Whether there might have been any if I'd gone to the hall I'm not sure, but I found other things to do in the end.

I'm glad you enjoyed what you heard.
