    David Owen Norris at his finest

    Interesting programme at crack of dawn on R4 this morning, about Counterpoint. Presenter Mark Tully takes the subject wider than just music (into poetry, religion etc), but the bedrock of the programme is provided by DON ... the high point being when he explains the structure of the first Two-Part Invention by singing his analysis to the music as he plays it

    Great stuff.... although I do find Mark Tully’s delivery rather ponderous. Mind you, he is in his mid-80s, to be fair. (The programme is a repeat, but I don’t know from when, and I can’t find that it’s been mentioned on the Forum before.)

    - just caught (this morning, morning's minion*) the last ten minutes or so of this. Very good - well worth hearing, DON at his very best.

      Did you go back and listen to the singalong?

          Yes - I think that Something Understood was cancelled/decomissioned a year or so ago.
