    Going to town?

    Here's a video I've just completed of my most successful piece.

    It's been performed more than 50 times by different ensembles, including at the Royal College of Music (wind quintet) and in the Burlington Arcade (flute, clarinet & bassoon).

    Although it wasn't written with L. S. Lowry in mind, it quickly became associated with Father Going Home (1962) - the main picture in this video.

    As to why Mr. Bunting went to town - well, why not?

    Note that I'm not great at titles. Mine was 'Burlesque', but my friend Roger suggested a better one - and it stuck.

    I wrote the piece in 3 days in February 1979, to fill in a gap in a concert.
