                Another 'Memorial' Tribute is a performance of the Vaughan Williams 4th, given in Carnegie Hall all of fifty years ago when Previn was briefly in charge of the Houston SO. He'd just recorded the work for RCA with the LSO so he knew the work well. It shows in this 'live' concert performance, as it is considerably better than his commercial Kingsway Hall recording ...

                  I didn't know that Andre Previn had recorded with Doris Day until I heard their version of 'Close Your Eyes' on yesterday's JRR - and very nice it was.

                    Indeed it was. He has also recorded with Dinah Shore and Ella among others.
