    It's wonderful. Satyagraha was a bit disappointing, but Akhnaten is absolutely stunning in every way. It's very rare for me to go to the same production twice, but this is an exception. Anyone who enjoys a spectacular night at the theatre should go (if there are any tickets left.)

      Hmmm ... Steve Reich as a modern-day Bach. For me that's an insult to JSB (and GPT).

        To me also, if I had been comparing Reich and JSB.
        I was trying to say that the relative achievement of GBT and JSB was perhaps similar to the relative achievement of Glass and Reich, Glass being seen as more profuse, and Reich as more weighty.
        But I managed to get my comparisons a bit muddled......

          This. The production is visually breathtaking. As long as the music isn't not-your-thing to the point of being intolerable, it's almost worth going for the visual aspect alone. Ticket availability is pretty sparse for this run now though...
