    Dekany Quartet

Who are/were they? There is a Vox Megabox of mp3s of the Haydn String Quartets in which this quartet shares honours with the Fine Arts Quartet. However, I can find no further information about them, other than they also recorded quartets by Henk Badings and Victor Legley, so I sort of assume they are/were a Benelux ensemble. Anyone here know more about them?

    Ervin Schiffer died in 2014 aged 82 - https://slippedisc.com/2014/07/a-pro...ayer-has-died/

It looks as though the Dekany Quartet was a predecessor of the Haydn Quartet - have fun searching for that one!

Wasn't Bela Dekany leader of the BBC Symphony Orchestra in the 1970's & 80's?

      Very fine player.

Thanks. Good searching there. Phil in Magnolia's customer review of the set on Amazon is very well done.

Indeed he was, on both counts.
