He wrote the soundtracks to some of the greatest films ever, winning Oscars and partying with the stars. As he hits Britain, the 86-year-old Frenchman recalls fights with his mother – and benders with Miles Davis
The sound of my cinema going days. RIP.Last edited by doversoul1; 26-01-19, 09:39.

Very sad here too. "Les Parapluies..." and "Windmills..." got an airing here this afternoon.
And the unparalleled score for "The Go-Between" will be played on a road trip to East Anglia tomorrow.
What a versatile genius - the film scores, the jazz, and the classical recordings:
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
