Why would Alkan be included?

I'd be tempted to include Scriabin who was strongly influenced by Chopin. There are also similarities between Scriabin and Debussy's complex harmonies.

I would think Chopin elegant and even stately and Debussy artistically fluid.

I think Ravel and Debussy are in a class of there own, maybe on a pedestal of their own, Liszt and Chopin can only dream of being anywhere near them!

Should music be categorized? Although there has been talk of this elsewhere, a group I belong to on Facebook. As for the most part music can be categorized but when it gets to the romantic, that when it gets complicated.
