Start the Week: music by Lucrezia Borgia's daughter

Not sure where to put this - buried on this morning's Start the Week an item from Laurie Stras, Professor of Music at the University of Southampton., talinfg about what women were and weren't allowed to do musically in Renaissance Italy, and how nuns got round the prohibition on their singing polyphony.

We heard Laurie Stras talk about the subject on that wonderful CoW*. I assume she has developed her project since then. Why couldn’t she be on Radio3, say of Music Matters or (even) as a guest on Essential Classic?

I suppose R4 may have been her own choice: a bigger audience. Ah well.

      I'd forgotten the CoTW.

It was an odd mix this morning. Look at the other guests!
