      It is somewhat notable that Dvořák's 6th was originally planned in D minor with the first movement in 2/4—so the original parallel was Beethoven's 5th, and one theme in the finale is pretty explicit about this, being an inversion of a theme in the finale of the Beethoven


      —but he changed this to D major and 3/4 after coming in contact with Brahms's 2nd. That said I see the relationship between the two symphonies as more in the spirit of friendly competition than influencer and influenced.
