Good call - I used to do that from time to time (letters to the BBC in those days) when a piece of theme music caught my younger ear - it's how I discovered the Symphonie Fantastique (Three Musketeers), Le Corsaire (Tenant of Wildfell Hall) and Land of the Mountain and the Flood (Sutherland's Law), to name but three....

From his listed training courses, he looks like he may be at the BBC (as opposed to an external production company supplying programmes to the BBC) - if so, he'll be on the usual email formula of: francois.gandolfi@bbc.co.uk

Doesn't check out as an email address. It looks as if he hires his services to other broadcasters besides the BBC, in which case no BBC address. Still worth a try.

I spent some time trying to discover the name of the music that introduces the Proms on BBC 4. It turned out that it had been recorded especially, was not commercially available and, as far as my helpful contact at the BBC was aware, had no name. This may also be the case for the piece under discussion here.

Yes, it was - but checking the only available Prom on the i-Player, Ms Derham's introduction is followed by something that definitely isn't by Bliss.
