    Jacques-Louis Stereod???

I cam across this name in the booklet essay accompanying the Warner Icon Melos Ensemble box. I soon realised that it should read Jacques-Louis Monod, whose name I remember from 1960s broadcasts. Surely Tully Potter (essay author) could not have written that? Is there a deliberate mistake in every Icon booklet? I have searched the Menuhin, Frémaux and Solomon booklet essays in vain.

Anyway, it caused me a moment's amusement.

Presumably the result of a global edit from 'mono' to 'stereo' that was done at some stage, though one might wonder why such an edit was done.

... I remember attending a concert at the Haydn Festival in Bridgnorth some years back, where the compilers of the programme notes had obviously realized late in the day that they were running out of space, and had decided to do a global edit reducing 'and' to '&'. Which had unfortunate consequences for the references to sponsors - &ersons - and mention of b&s...
