Be interesting to know what percentage of complete symphonies were consigned to the graveyard slot aka "Through the Night", and how this compares with previous years.

Would also be interesting to note the number of complete symphonies played in 2017 against the 2010-17 mean.

              Thanks sc.

The balance between TTN & the daytime/evening schedule hasn't altered much, what you often do get with TTN is a number of symphonies reoccur several times during the year in the same performance. Almost the entire Svendsen Symphony no 2 broadcasts over the last few years are of the same performance on TTN, as are most of the Abel symphonies for example. The occurrences aren't even either, often the Svendsen appears 2 or 3 times within a month or so, then it is absent for several months,

The overall totals for complete symphony broadcasts from 2011-17 are as follows:

                1126,1091,1145,1198,1164,1109,1115

Thanks. That's a poor poor figure. If only the schedule could allow for a series like 'the Symphonies of Havergal Brian’, one a week, from gramophone records if need be, with just a short programme note.

It would have a big following imho.

Truly a labour of love. Well done! Anyone recording the jazz, by any chance?
And the tune ends too soon for us all

Frenchie has posted the survey on the Facebook page/site and not surprisingly it is creating a fair degree of interest .... as yet no one has been brave enough to make a detailed comment or even ask a question ........

Thank you for all the supportive comments and the appreciation makes the task well worthwhile. As this year will be the 10th year of the Survey, it may be my last, but I'll collect all the data from the 10 years and produce some final figures along with the 2018 figures at the beginning of January 2019!

Worth posting a copy to him! With significance pointed out … our Suffy is better than any computer for indicating Way Forward.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
