World Brass Day September 23 2017

The announcement I saw yesterday. should be good. There's also a theme tune for it as well. La Mourisque, from Le Danserye(1597), by the Flemish composer Tylamn Susato.

Who remembers Philip Jones Brass Ensemble, playing this? Became quite popular, when it came out.

Never with us brass musicians. We always are the backbone of the orchestra, etc.

I'm reminded of the John Lewis slogan Never Knowingly Underwired...

          Now, now - let's not make a storm in a D-cup.

Ferney I didn't realise this. Could you please correct? Many thanks. The cateracts my eyes have are playing havoc. Have corrected the error!

I like these events quite a bit. The theme for this, I remember with fondness, back in my school days.

Well - it afforded a couple of moments of fun amongst the perpetually adolescent amongst us ; but somebody has done the honours before I could.

Sorry to hear about the cataract problems - I hope they're sorted out before long. Meanwhile here is La Mourisque, played not by PJBE, but by David Munrow and chums, which is how I first heard it.

The Early Music Consort of London. David Munrow perfoming 'La Mourisque' by Tylman Susato.

I'm also sorry to hear of the cataract problems; from what I've heard from a number of sufferers, having the ops usually does wonders, so I wish you all the best with this.
