I thought I'd post this here, rather than in the tecchie section as some creative artists might have answers.
Software for music or video editing allows seqences to be strung together in a linear fashion. I just wonder if there are any tools which are well known (by professionals, not us in the masses) which enable sequences of film or music to be strung together dynamically and fairly seemlessly where the sequences are selected based on dynamic conditions. This would enable each "rendering" of an audio visual work to be different, possibly unique, and could perhaps also provide feedback from an audience to shape the "performance".
Condtional "jump" points would change the way parts link together, and also change, or be used to constrain, the overall duration of an AV experience.
This is clearly theoretically possible, and technically feasible (allbeit with perhaps quite expensive hardware and software) but I wonder if there are already tools being used by audio visual artists for this kind of purpose.
