Well, bbm, I have known several of the Haitian composers for a fair few years. Normally any references have been to Lamothe, Racine, Jeanty and Saint-Eloi (ish). I found this article yesterday. The latter two aren't mentioned but other people are and I have been able to listen to pieces by most of them. Jaegerhuber especially appeals given that he was German-Haitian and his style which could almost imply a British connection too. I love the music in that link. There is also a slight sense of deja vu so maybe I did know him and some of the other "new" names and had just forgotten. I'm not too sure. But it is worthwhile highlighting how Haiti is often described on the net - "a powerhouse of classical music". Few note it.

(L for Lamothe is still in the composers' section - one of my several failed threads - and a springboard if anyone has any additional information on Haitian composers generally)

              Respighi

              Belkis, Queen of Sheba
              Church Windows
              Radio Filharmonisch Orckest, Holland
              Vladimi Ashkenazy.

I am surprised this recording only has 4 star rating on amazon. This is a very rewarding disc. Full sound from the orchestra. Very good interpretations from Ashkenazy and very good recorded sound as well. Thoroughly recommend this.

Carrying on back to my project of Widor's organ symphonies.
