I’m playing the above CDs today, because with the release of London Brass’s new CD, Music of The Angels, I felt compelled to hear the originals of the two main works featured, Symphony in Two Movements and Music of the Angels. Both sounded very good but I felt the latter was more suited in its original format, the brass band. Didn’t have quite the atmosphere in its brass ensemble version. London Brass’s recording still very much worth a listen though.Last edited by BBMmk2; 30-03-20, 11:38.Don’t cry for me

Grateful to Spotify's Discover Weekly playlist for alerting me to Cantates pour voix seule - Manuscrits d'Uppsala from Buxtehude and other lesser-known North German composers such as Johann Förtsch and Franz Tunder. Maïlys de Villoutreys (great name, lovely voice) and the instrumental group La Rêveuse.
