Boris is called to the throne (no, not the wrong thread). See here. THere is also a Blu-ray video of the production but I am not that fond of modern re-staging of 19th-century operas, so the audio-only option suits me fine. It's a bit late to listen to more than the opening scenes tonight but so far, so good.

Henze, Los Caprichos (Fantasia per orchestra) from a Wergo CD by the BBC SO conducted by Oliver Knussen that I somehow managed to miss when it was released a few months ago. This piece was written in 1963, around the time of many of my favourite Henze pieces. I shall be listening to it numerous times in the coming days.

Yes I've been enjoying this disc immensely the last few weeks, especially Heliogabalus, which has been on a virtual loop, but I have moved on to give the other stuff a 'proper' listen...

Same here! Only heard Heliogabalus Imperator (more than once) from this disc so far and need to listen to the rest of it.
"The sound is the handwriting of the conductor" - Bernard Haitink
I see the Henze disc is available on Qobuz. I've made it a "favorite" so I can easily find for tomorrow's listening.
Thanks for mentioning it. One of the reasons I keep an eye on this thread is for the interesting recordings which I wouldn't have come across otherwise.
