Do you not already have the Life with Czech Music box? Everything is in there, except that two items are on DVD rather than CD.

Good to see a fellow jazzer "moonlighting" on Egon Wellesz, particularly this rather lovely piece, btw.

That's a name one doesn't hear very often these days. I met Bob when I was working in a record shop in London in 1980 or so, and thereafter worked for him quite regularly as a copyist for his film/TV music projects until his sudden death at the age of 43 three years later. He was someone who could move without taking a breath from playing jazz piano à la Bill Evans to discussing the finer points of Webern. I learned an enormous amount from him. Thanks for the (albeit unsuspecting) reminder.

                  Bach. Goldberg Variations.

Angela Hewitt's 1999 Hyperion recording. I'm hoping Mrs. PG will give me her latest thoughts on this work for Christmas.

                  Absolute perfection, imho.

Just to add, and in the process clarify earlier comments, discs 1 and 2 of the "Life with Czech Music" set comprise the entire content of SU 3739 2 032 with the addition of an interview with Srt Charles Mackerras. So the Jealousy and Taras Bulba recordings appear in the set on CD and DVD video format. Unfortunately the Wingfield edition of the Glagolitic Mass is only found on the DVD. There is no CD version of that recording. However, as the audio for the DVD is LPCM 48/16, is should, in theory, be very slightly better definition, in frequency range terms, than a CD version.

[I got SU 3739 2 032 some considerable time before "Life with Czech Music" was released.]
