Much different from the one I played?(see my post)

I was going to play Mahler’s 6th Symphony, straight after the 5th, recently. My illness that I have decided otherwise. Fatigue. All part of so now I’m playing it.

      Gustav Mahler
      Symphony No.6.
      Berliner Philharmoniker
      Claudio Abbado.

Beethoven String Quartets Op.18 4-6. Vegh Quartet Rec. 1952. Music & Arts CDs.
The only problem with these heavenly Op.18 recordings is - they are so lovely I almost never move on to Op.59 or 74, or...

This worked for me. It arrived too late for an indie-obsessed daughter's Christmas present (no fault of Discogs, I hasten to add). I've no idea how to categorise its artful simplicity & unflagging positivity. In one way "Poly-Life Multi-Soul" is very Japanese, the electronic timbres discernably echoing Tomita, but Swingles, Reggae & Brazilian in the mix as well. Confusing but enjoyable.

I have the Fleming/BPO/Abbado 4 in the big Abbado DG Symphony box - It's in the catch-up pile!

One of the joys of this forum are recommendations such as this - it does indeed sound very Japanese so, copy found on Amazon France from the reliable Kelindo and duly ordered. Much looking forward to hearing Tomita meeting bossa nova!
