That Corydon Singers CD is pure delight.
I've never really got on with the Missa Sabrinensis though, either in that recording or the newer Hyperion one under David Hill:
Howells: Missa Sabrinensis & Michael Fanfare. Hyperion: CDA68294. Buy CD or download online. Helena Dix (soprano), Christine Rice (mezzo-soprano), Benjamin Hulett (tenor), Roderick Williams (baritone) BBC Concert Orchestra, Bach Choir, David Hill

Or the Stabat mater, for that matter, which again both Rozhdestvensky and Hill have recorded.

Never mind: Hymnus Paradisi more than makes up for both of them!

              Roussel.
              Piano Concerto in G Major.
Littauer and Hamburg SO/ Springer, I think.

Anybody ever heard this performed live?

Must confess to never having heard Roussel's PC, even though a big fan of his music. Must rectify that omission asap.

I see that it used to be available on YouTube, but no longer (also perhaps medici tv); but not in a commercial recording, which is why I wasn't aware of it.

Beethoven, Septet in E flat, op.20 (Wiener Akademie).

I suspect that this recording isn't the last word in HIPP releases but it's all I could find, having perceived that I really don't know this work at all (despite it having been highly popular in Beethoven's time). Any ideas? There seems to have been a recording by the Collegium Aureum, which as far as I can see has disappeared.

I had (possibly still have) that recording on LP. An early attempt at HIPP. The Wiener Akademie performance might well reflect more recent HIPP musicology. I see there is also an AAM Chamber Ensemble recording.
