I purchased a Blu Ray of My Fair Lady from a resale shop. Incredibly my wife and I had never seen it, although of course many of the tunes are over familiar. We enjoyed it immensely and will probably repeat watch a few times. I haven’t been able to get the song “On The Street Where You Live” out of my head.

Excellent and with Andre Previn in charge of the music including the ‘borrowed voice’ of Marnie Nixon for Audrey!

What a versatile artist she was, Marnie Nixon that is.

I knew that she had been dubbed for AH and was listening very critically. I think most of the time it is wholly convincing

If ever I heard these before, I had forgotten them.... what delightful, light-filled music this is....so flowing, so light-of-touch.... but the hidden depths are there....excellent sound and the performances seem very good too, though of course I have no touchstone. Late works: No.1, Op.112 from 1899; and No.2, Op.153 from 1919.
                A wonderful late-night discovery!

Her recordings of Ives songs is well worth seeking out, too.

Played this every day for a week now, as aubade/nocturne in the bedroom......just glorious! Helps me cope with the gloomy skies, the gloom within and the gloom-at-large....
Wonder what New Release treats Qobuz has in store for tomorrow?
