Having been to a recital by Julian Bliss and Robert Bottriell recently I thought that there wasn't too much clarinet music, and not so much on R3. Now we seem to be getting a lot today - Sunday 26th March.
I still don't like Poulenc's clarinet sonata as much as his flute sonata - though there are obvious similarities - but maybe I'm somewhat biased

What other works could fill up a clarinet day? The pieces by Francaix are quite fun. There are sonatas by a number of composers, including Hindemith, Martinu, Bernstein - we already had Brahms in a version by Berio - which I'd never heard (of) before - plus if more players are permitted there are the quintets by Brahms and Mozart and maybe even Reger. Trios - Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms. There are also pieces by Finzi and Schumann which I'm sure many clarinettists know well.
