Alexander Scriabin - Piano Sonata #1
    Maria Lettberg, Piano. Label: Capriccio.

Perfectly paced, expositions repeated, with unruffled flow and singular dynamism (forgive my vernacular, I am untrained (musically)). I don't have many comparators (just John 'I have a bus to catch' Ogden, on EMI and Bernd Glemser on Naxos) but I don't see how it can get better than this.

Just finished listening to Gaspard de la Nuit - Håkon Austbø. Breathtaking!

I can't find my Ravel solo piano CDs (Naxos: François-Joël Thiollier) so I need a new set

Can someone give a suggestion as to an excellent set?

UPDATE: I just found my CDs

Maybe I can buy a new set without an excuse. It is Christmas, after all

It’s quite old now but I always thoroughly enjoy Louis Lortie.

I do want to try the Cédric Tiberghien set of Ravel.

Sorry, I meant Bertrand Chamayou, the more so since Highland Dougie’s overnight endorsement.

I hope M. Tiberghien gets round to recording Ravel as I've thought his Debussy playing in various R3 recitals very fine indeed.
