            Not very original but, yes - My favourite for Osmin.
            It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

              Magnificent Gurnemanz on the Kubelik Munich Parsifal.

              Also:
              König Marke on the Carlos Kleiber Tristan,
              Most recently acquired: I have really relished his two CDs of Loewe Balladen on cpo.

                      I haven't heard the Karajan (yet) but remember reading that DG held back the earlier recorded Kubelik to protect Karajan. Kubelik got stuck in Bavarian Radio's archive for over twenty years before appearing on the Arts Archives label.

                          Another sad loss to the musical world: one sometimes thinks that singers etc are immortal, but I'm afraid it isn't the case. I have several recordings, of course, but I was fortunate to see Herr Moll at Covent Garden in a cameo role as the Pope in Pfitzner's 'Palestrina' some years ago.
