Square enough - I'll do my best to get over there! (And thanks as ever for being the notice-bringer, Bryn).

Who knows, but the 'original idea' came from Ed B., as far as I am aware.

Now that's someone I haven't seen or heard from in some considerable time. Are you in touch with him?

MMmmm. Wondering how long it takes to get to and from the Cafe OTO from Waterloo station - and also how. Getting there is not, perhaps a problem, but getting back for the last train might be. Depends how long the candle lit radios goes on, I suppose.

I notice that someone called Bryn H is featured .... amongst the All Stars.

If I don't have a clash and I can get back home I'll make the effort.

The quickest way would be Jubilee Line east from Waterloo to Canada Water, thence the Overground north to Dalston. The longer more stressful alternative is Northern Line to Highbury & Islington, then Overground east to Dalston, On exiting Dalston station cross at the pedestrian crossing to your right, and Cafe Oto is a couple of minutes down the side road in front of you, becoming visible as it turns the corner to the left. To be safe I'd give the journey 40 minutes each way, though it should be less than that, but make sure to check Tfl's website and SW Trains (would it be for you?) beforehand. It's a good idea to book the entrance beforehand - I think the Oto website says if a particular night is sold out.

Include me in, as they say. I don't think I have seen Alan since Cardew's funeral.

Thanks for tip about booking in advance - and saving £1!

I've been looking at ways to minimise potential travel problems - don't want to get caught without a way home in the middle of the night - too cold these days. Some stations in the SW area have later last trains, so driving + parking might be the safest option. I'm guessing that would be more sensible than trying to drive to Dalston, with perhaps more difficult parking problems there.

Some rail routes which seem to work go via Vauxhall, from whence other stations can be reached.

The aim is to finish around 10.30pm. Quite a few of the participants have long journeys home after the event. There are two Overland Dalson stations, Junctions and Kingsland, both of which are close to Cafe OTO.

The symbol associated with the Arcola Theatre on this map gives the very location of Cafe OTO.

I last saw him about eight years ago. After living in the USA for some years he had recently returned to the UK. I didn't know him in his Scratch days but we had a lot to do with one another in the 1980s.
