Is this being recorded? I can see some kit. The chairs piece was unusual, as were some of the other pieces. Really needs surround sound recording. The vocals are fun, though I don't really know what it 'means'.

Lots of water, and metal balls being dropped, plus a violinist.

      There's twitter #scratchrite

Some of the audience have done short video recordings on iPhones etc. Bit of a 'happening' - some may say it's retro, though.

The NHS piece had the performers coughing, and looking frail and creaky. Long live the NHS!

Shame I was unable to get to it, owing to a knee problem.

I hope it was as good and as much fun as Dave2002's messages would seem to indicate.

I think it was recorded by Cafe OTO's house engineer. Perhaps extracts will find their way onto Carole Finer's Sound Out programme on Resonance FM. The George Brecht piece which closed the evening showed the problems of not performing a work in HIPP mode. The technology of radios has changed a great deal since its composition. It was very difficult, especially by the light of a single birthday cake candle, to work out how to apply Brecht's instructions re.changes in tuning and volume for each radio. Some used old style rotating knobs to do the jobs, others had push buttons, and still others had a combination. The controls were not always labeled clearly, either.

As to meaning. The general teleology might be teased out of the Draft Constitution. That link may be a bit slow to load, and you need to scroll down to pages 2 and 3.

A shame indeed. We could have roped you in for Hugh Shrapnel's NHS Riite.

So was I the only forumite there - apart from Bryn?

The candle lit piece went on a bit - surely most of us got the message (whatever that might have been) within a couple of minutes.

Re recording(s) - I've not spotted any output on Resonance FM so far - though I only visited the site a couple of times. Does it have a listen again archive?

An experience to sample at least once, I think, but perhaps not too much more than that. Perhaps heightens one's awareness of sounds in general, though perhaps not all sounds are music and ... think about the converse ...

The shrapnel would undoubtedly have flown!

                      What would be your aim?

Our English teacher's was pretty accurate!
