What, no mention of the Academy of St. Martins in the Fields in the 1970s? When I was a student back then I used to turn on the radio every morning when I woke up and let R3 bring me into consciousness. I remember doing that and thinking, on hearing that piece of Mozart played by the ASMF, that is just the most amazing performance of anything I've ever heard. It might have been the Argo LP of Mozart Divertimenti, I think.
