    Anthony Goldstone, RIP

Day 4 of a new year brings more sad news with the death of Anthony Goldstone. He leaves behind many years of pleasure along with a substantial collection of recordings. Perhaps his appearances at the Last Night of the Proms instantly come to mind, as well as his partnership with his wife, Caroline Clemmow - a distinguished piano duo and their instant rapport with audiences. Time to think on. RIP

I had an album of Schubert by the duo that I think was a BBC Music magazine selection that played frequently after the release.

Yes, Schubert, spot-on rfg ! I'm not a musician but always learnt something from their work.

My Father speaks highly of a D960 given by Anthony Goldstone at Hull University in the late Seventies.

How sad - deepest sympathy to Caroline. A great partnership.

                Very sad news.
Somewhere in the depths of my collection I have his Chandos Holst and Lambert piano music cd.
I still haven't ordered the RVW 5 arranged for 2 pianos he recently recorded with his wife Catherine Clemmow,so I'll do that now.

                RIP

Petroc played the scherzo of this work this morning.
