I tuned in at your bump, Bryn, and had to leave suddenly, so I failed to recognise the presenter who was speaking just before that organist who was describing his extreme devotion to Bach. When I realised later that the presenter was Clemency Burton-Hill I was shocked at the story of her experience, and filled with admiration for her. It was an inspiring programme, but I took away a completely different thought from what I expected. I'll get back to Bach's music as I always do.

Only caught a few minutes of this, by chance, tonight: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0016wzp It seems the complete concert will be heard, in better audio quality, on Radio 3 in the coming months, presumably before the Proms. The Zappa caught my ear.

Indeed, and the whole series is worth hearing. All programmes so far broadcast as available via BBC Sounds.

PERFECT PITCH - just finished listening on Radio 4. (Repeated on Wednesday at 11 am.)

Eleanor Oldroyd explores the unlikely connections between cricket and choral music.

Unfortunately, Sir Neville Cardus didn't get a mention, though there is a contribution from the next Organist and Master of the Choristers of Westminster Abbey.

BBC cricket reporter Eleanor Oldroyd explores the unlikely connections between cricket and choral music. She is joined by England great Sir Alastair Cook, World Cup winner Ebony Rainford-Brent, and former West Indies captain Sir Clive Lloyd, all of whom credit their cricketing success to their early experiences of singing in choirs.

I enjoy in our time on 4 and sometimes the today program.
Annoyingly listening to and commenting on radio 3...
