Surprised no-one has flagged it up.
IMO a superb, idiomatic, wonderfully rich reading by Kathryn Stott tonight.
Knockout.
Hello DracoM,
I would normally have attended this concert but I don't tend to rate Kathryn Stott's playing these days. I hope she had taken the trouble to smarten herself on the concert platform up as well. Virtually all of the younger generation of soloists I see are immaculately dressed. Of ourse dress does not affect playing but may reflect state of mind. Of the Northern based pianists for me Martin Roscoe is the finest by far.

Well, frankly, that posting is oddly prickly with unpleasant sneering.
And as for 'the Northern-based' etc etc comment..............! Crikey.............
And by the way, it's 'affect', not effect in that context.

Hello Draco,
I have seen Stott in concert/recital on about a dozen occasions and also have that Faure piano music set. I think she did her best work early in her career and I think there has been a tail-off. As with the Faure set I don't think she could play with that comparable level of freshness and sens eof engagement today. I stand by my viewpoint about appearance and trying to look smart i.e. presentation; an important factor for some people but I don’t expect everyone to agree with it. Your opinion about sneering could be taken as a sneer in itself.
In the North of England we tend to get Northern based performers and Stott and Roscoe very frequently appear in the area rather than say London based performers such as John Lill who doesn't appear anywhere as near as often. That's what I meant. By the way I find your grammar lessons just as haughty. But I don't suppose you ever make typos sat in your ivory tower.
