The solicitor involved belongs to a practice which states Our solicitors are recognised nationally for their expertise in the field of Equality Law and claims arising from work related injuries.

It would be professional suicide to be involved in a joke of this sort, wouldn't you think?

I saw this story and immediately thought, ahem, April Fools! :)

        I mean, Die Walkure, noisy?

But what would you expect to find? He's an orchestral player, not a soloist. If his recordings aren't on YouTube, does it mean he doesn't exist?

Here he is, saying nice things about an instrument maker's products:

Anthony Perry’s instruments are beautifully crafted and produce an exceptional tone. Anthony makes violins and violas in the style of the great Italian makers, and has produced copies of work by Stradivari, Del Gesu and Amati. His instruments are suited to accomplished musicians.   Testimonials ….. a serious violinist needs a violin that is comfortable … Continued

Is that part of an elaborate invented backstory?

Correct. Nothing to support your fallacious argument that it's a hoax. In any case, I heard about it from some of his colleagues and it is a real case and he is indeed a real person.

There appears to be a dual mistake here. mahlerei is well known to several of us and that's the kind of remark that sends people away from the forum. Please don't accuse people of being 'trolls' on such flimsy evidence.

There are indeed odd mentions of Mr Goldscheider who appears to have a very wide musical range.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

No - but it had all the appearance of an AFJ, and when I first responded to Nevilevelis' invitation for "any thoughts", I did so in the belief that it was just such a hoax story.

Sorry! Likewise, actually. I found his remarks flippant, particularly when challenged. I thought we was unreasonably and deliberately derailing the discussion, but then perhaps I just don't get his particular manner.

                        Sorry again!

Assuming that it is a genuine news item, what could the ROH be accused of being negligent for? Not making ear plugs compulsory? Setting the limit of the sound of all instruments?

Maybe they should switch to HIPP only in the future...

I did, & came up with lots of references to the news item in various publications. But that does suggest it's genuine - I doubt if such a wide range of authoritative sources (and Norman Lebrecht) would be taken in.

Altghough I did think that he might have a website.

I thought violas were fairly limited?

                              (note: this is a joke, & I carefully didn't say 'violists' )
