Let's be very careful people know what they're reading - we don't want the scandal sheets who regularly comb our forum for stories to start a hare running
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

For £1 million I'd be prepared to tell everyone that today is April 1st.

I'd want the money up front, though.

....some of the other articles are superbly concocted humourous hyperbole....a lot of effort has gone into it (Well done who ever you are) ....AND in every one there is just that amount of insight and truth....well actually often there is quite a lot mirror reflection....

Sometimes, even I can't think of anything to say.

                Hya Beefy,

Please someone tell me that this is someone's idea of a joke. Surely! I hope. Unless the world has gone mad.

I'd expect April 1 up front for that...

I hope it's a joke, too. Absolutely ridiculous.

I've decided that this must be a stupid joke. Not even funny.

The most charitable (haha) thing I can think of is that it is a reductio ad absurdum of what happens when one has to please the sponsors. Nothing written after 1923? Tick! A Beethoven symphony in every concert? Tick! Hotly tipped future music director selling soul to the financial devil? TICK!!!

I really enjoyed this. The 'branding' of the revamped Lansdowne Road Stadium hasn't gone down at all well with Dubliners, and there've been other instances of crazy naming rights being granted since that which also make the blood boil, so this article struck a chord.

There are some other chuckle-enducing articles on that Submediant site which are worth a browse.

Not even 8 out of 10 (cats) fall for that one! Some do, though! Now, where's my £1 million?

You don't have to fall for it to find it funny, surely?
