Jose Serebrier and the Philharmonia are to give the world premiere of John Powell's 45-minute Oratorio "A Prussian Requiem" at the RFH on 6 March, so as it's a "first performance" I wonder if it will be broadcast. According to his Wiki bio, Powell is an English composer who has been working in Hollywood for many years, scoring music for the movies. These include the three "Bourne" films with Matt Damon that often pop up on TV, as well as a number of animated pictures.
The first half starts with RVW's "The Lark Ascending" and then comes Elgar's Cello Concerto played by Sol Gabetta. She can be seen on You Tube playing it in Denmark where the audience response was very enthusiastic. Still, I guess it's the Powell work that will be of particular interest.
