I was rather shocked just now to read of the death of the mezzo, Stella Doufexis, at the age of only 47. She worked mainly in Germany and I know her work through her fine collaborations with Graham Johnson on the Hyperion Schumann Lieder edition.

BTW, according to Brug, Doufexis died on the 15th, rather than the 16th, so the Gramophone tribute might be one day off. No doubt more tributes will appear soon. -
