G Minor

Ever since the days of trying to play the guitar, I have been convinced that G minor is the "main sound for me". Since 2010, I have questioned this assumption, not least on the basis that it's instinctive and uninformed. I'd welcome discussion on this point with reference to any music you like. I don't mind if what is brought forward is in its support or not.

Well worth hearing. I doubt the op. 33, but the piece my be better known as Trio for 2 Violins and Cello.

Oh no - in Italy, very definitely. The poem than accompanied the original (yes, they all have poems) in very free translation says:

1. Under the relentless glare of the sun, man and beast swelter and even the pines are scorched. Ths cuckoo raises its voice, to be joined by the turtle dove and finces. Soft breezes stir the air, but the north wind sweeps them aside and makes the shepherd wary of the storm and what it may bring.

2. He is no longer at ease. Flies and bluebottles buzz about and lightning and thunder begin to creep up on him.

3. He was right enough! The heavens open, roar and flash. Hailstones flatten the ripened corn.

It's surprising, as I have something of an aversion to its relative major - B flat
