Neil Fisher (Times) interview with Muti

I hope that the share token works: some interesting reflections here as Muti prepares for a performance of Verdi's Requiem in the RFH.

The Italian maestro, 83, is back in Britain for the first time in 15 years. He talks to Neil Fisher about politics on the podium, collapsing divas and the terror of Verdi’s Requiem

Thansk; I was able to read this straight away.

How the years fly by. I had lost touch with Muti and couldn't guess he would be 83; one tends to remember people as being the age they were when we last saw them!

I was thinking of him today, though, hearing Tchakovsky's Manfred. His HMV LP of the work with the Philharmonia, an early digital recording I think, is an old favourite of mine .
