A problem with downloads

However there is no CD - so presentation wise this is really not going to work.

Maybe younger generations don't mind, but some of us still like to have at least one physical copy.

Clearly many people don't use physical media much at all nowadays, but for gift giving there is still a lot of business which relies on physical objects.

I agree with you. I suppose that you could download it and then burn it to a blank CD. I presume the album notes are downloadable and you could print them and tuck them in the jewel case. Obviously this is a lot of effort compared to just buying the CD and gift wrapping it.
You also need to know that the intended recipient has a means of playing the CD, which is not a given these days
