I was combing my CD shelves looking for discs to burn to my NAS to free up shelf space. The criteria here is that the disc has to be something that I rarely if ever play and therefore won’t miss much if something should KO the NAS and its backup. I found a disc of GP and another fiddler playing 44 Bartok duets. Pretty sure that was my sole disc by him. I culled and then listened to it from the NAS. The fiddling is great, and in small doses I like the music.

I just thought she was having a gentle dig at me for always mentioning a BBC MM recording if one was available.

That one seems to me to be less successful than the Mozart for Vox.

Pauk also recorded some wonderful Brahms trios with Fankl and Kirshbaum, and a fabulous recording of the Bartok violin duos with Kazuki Sawa.
