Sarah Walker with highlights from the semi-finals of Leeds International Piano Competition
Only just seen your post ff and can't spot anything obviously hilarious via the link. So has it been corrected, or am I just showing my usual ignorance?
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

It's been corrected - there used to be a photo of a violinist!

People may like to compare and contrast with 22 year old Italian Luca Buratto who has just won the Honens International Piano Competition in Calgary ( most recent previous winner Pavel Kolesnikov ) His two concerto performances in the final can be viewed here.
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

When is the final ? Can't be this weekend I assume as Halle/Elder are in Sheffield on Friday playing Rachmaninov 3 and the Third Piano Concerto with the excellent Sunwook Kim who is their artist in residence this year .
EDIT
I see it was last weekend - what idiocy was this to try and compete with the last week of the Proms . I thought that the competition used to be in the spring .

Anna Tcybuleva won it last night, but for some unknown reason the finals are not available to Listen [to] Again via the iPlayer.

Yesterday, Barbs - the afternoon and evening R3 schedules were devoted to it.
Sarah Walker introduces the first part of Radio 3's coverage of the Leeds finals.
The Competition has always been held during the University Term "holidays" - so that accommodation and (more importantly) the pianos in the Music Department are available. Whether this used to be in the Easter Break, I don't remember.

Sunwook Kim, indeed excellent, who won the Leeds 6 years ago with a terrific Brahms 1 which I still have on DVD and is a benchmark performance for me of that piece - truly magnificent. His Rach 3 with Bournemouth earlier this year was also a reference performance. He's the best winner (for me) for many a long year.
As mentioned above, you haven't missed the TV coverage of the 2015 competition - all the concerto finals performances starting this Friday evening on BBC Four. Set your PVR for 'series record'

SK is playing both Brahms concertos in one concert with the Halle in the spring !
I thought that the competition used to be in the spring .
A quick check with WIKI (yes, I know) suggests that the competition has always been held in September.
It is also from that site that I learn that Tetley Hall - where the competitors used to be "lodged" during the competition, and site of very fond memories for me - is no longer a Student Hall of Accommodation.
