A sad loss. He brought such poetry to this sad dance by his compatriot ,Smetana:

A great Chopin player. He had several lps on the Connoiseur label. His playing was described by Criticsas "Aristocratic" by which it was meant that there was some sort of detachment between him and the Composer, and I never understood that.

Only saw him live once and sad to say I don't remember much of the recital except for the person next to me being taken ill mid-piece with Moravec playing on despite the commotion.
