Herbie Flowers anticipated obituary ("anticipated" means that he is not dead).

From what I make out from the dates of the Replies, this must've been set up 3 years ago in anticipation. There's nothing in Wiki to confirm his demise.

I remember seeing Herbie in numerous provisional line-ups playing a sort of proto-jazz funk at the Marquee in the mid-'60s; this was before he became favoured by some famous names to come - by which time my interest in what directions rock music was going in had been eclipsed.

News of musician Herbie Flowers’s death spread quickly earlier this week, causing concern among fans across the world. However, the November 2024 report has now been confirmed as a complete hoax, the musician best known for the recording of Walk on the Wild Side is alive and well.

Necropedia is quite clear what an 'Anticipated obituary' is: "An anticipated obituary is, by definition, an obituary written BEFORE the death of a person. It is common for news agencies to keep pre-written obituary for public figures, famous and high-profile people who are still alive.
It is by no means a death announcement nor an anticipation of death."

Not sure what the point is of the website or whether they intend the announcements to mislead (while building in their defence - 'We TOLD them').
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
