    Mozart's Mass in C minor K427

Mozart's C Minor Mass is an unfinished work. I first experienced the work when a student, playing the oboe part. The section that impressed me the most was the Agnus Dei, which used the music of the opening Kyrie.
I was most disappointed to discover that Mozart never composed it that way, and that the ending was a copy of Sussmayer's idea for the Requiem.
I was reminded of this "completion" when I was asked to sing in a performance of Philip Wilby's completion (June 21st) but the orchestral parts were not available, so we've had to stick with what Mozart left.

Are there any forumites with experience of any other completions of this work?

Levin made a completion, IIRC in 2004

Dr Richard Maunder ( he of J.C. Bach fame) made a very stylish completion about 20 years ago, subsequently recorded by the now-much-missed Christopher Hogwood and The AAM.
Duncan Druce's 1984 completion of the Requiem is so convincing that I wish he had tackled the Mass in C minor as well.

Would that be Ira Levin, by any chance?

            I agree. So appropriately Mozartian.

A little Porgy and Bess attached to a Mozart Mass might not be a bad thing.

Having now sung in the performamce (last weekend) I notice that only one movement is in C minor - the opening Kyrie - though it's possiblle that there might have been the odd C minor movement had Mozart completed the work.
