I recall years ago David Matthews saying (though with what degree of seriousness I'd prefer not to hazard a guess) that, as a composer, one knows that one has made it when invited to be a castaway on Desert Island Discs, to which I replied "no - one knows that one has made it as a composer when someone chooses one of one's works to take to that mythical island"; perhaps, however, one has only really made it as a composer once one's work has been relayed across the "Tannoy" at Hounslow West Tube altough, should that ever happen to mine, I can imagine the Piccadilly Line being emptied of customers before they even become passengers and TFL's buses all becoming full beyond bursting point.
Speaking of the London Underground, I always thought that the advertising slogan for it from many years ago "it's quicker by tube" was in fact for an IVF clinic...

Pancakes with Butter, Maple Syrup and Bacon and the TV Weatherman a la David Bedford.
