Elly Ameling masterclasses at the Wigmore

The divine Elly Ameling is giving public masterclasses this Wednesday and Thursday mornings, 10.30am, at the Wigmore Hall: http://wigmore-hall.org.uk/wigmore-series/masterclasses

Seats left for just £7... Very tempting to bunk off work

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Ever wished you had made your 11 am appointment a 2.00 pm job?

    Good spot though, Cals.

Is " bunk off work" a legal term ?
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

I am not a number, I am a free man.

From one of my favourite Schubert recital discs of all time - a youthful Elly Ameling accompanied on an exquisite fortepiano by Jorg Demus.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

            Wow. Thanks Micky.

She does make Betty Blackhead seem a tad mannered, doesn't she...!

              She most certainly does, Caliban!

Here's another morsel from that gorgeous disc:

The wonderful genius of Franz Peter Schubert:Elly Ameling sings "Der Musensohn", D.764 Op.92 No. 1Piano: Jörg Demus

Hope you get to the master class....

Cherished memories of the great lady's Wigmore Hall recitals in the early 80s. She also had a relaxed but formidable platform persona and was also known, affectionately, as 'the iron butterfly'!
