I was looking forward to seeing him conduct Gerontius in Birmingham in March this year. Then I saw he was absent from the Mahler 10 prom, due to illness on both occasions. Does anyone know 'how' ill he is or if he's actually conducted since March or since the prom?

Not an answer to your question, but his website still shows his upcoming concerts as October 5 & 7, 2023 8:00pm Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. He has a full schedule.It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world. -
